University of Manitoba Concert Choir

Runes and Rhymes

The University Concert Choir celebrates its year end with an evocative collection of choral settings from favourites such as Rheinberger and Whitacre to jaunty renditions of the Sakkijarven Polkka, Gilbert & Sullivan and the  Beatles!  UofM performance major Andrea Bellhouse will join us in “Everyone Sang”, in which the poetry by Siegfried Sassoon is set against the backdrop of WW1.  Andrea will also perform a collection of vibrant selections from her own repertoire including the comic lament of a tone-deaf singer, “A Word on my Ear”!

$12 Adults / $5 Students

Renaissance Voices will be featuring English "part-songs" from across the centuries, in particular - a variety of madrigals from the 16th and 17th centuries, some charming glees from the 18th century and some delicious material from the 19th and 20th centuries including works by Stanford, Holst and Britten.
