Westworth United Church

Stuart Sladden, conductor

Hodie (This Day)

Hodie is a Christmas Cantata and one of the last major works composed by Ralph Vaughan Williams. It is an exciting retelling of the Christmas story featuring 4 wonderful soloists, a chorus of singers from all over Winnipeg, including the Westworth Senior Choir, and a chamber orchestra made up of players from Westworth United and the U of M.  The soloists for this performance are:

Counter Tenor: Richard Allen Cunningham

Soprano: Susan Watkins

Tenor: PJ Buchan

Baritone: Howard Rempel

This would be a wonderful way to kick off the christmas season! Speaking of kick offs, the program begins at 3:00 pm and will be finished around 4:00 pm, leaving plenty of time to get home for the Grey Cup kick off.

Free

This recital is being presented as a requirement for the conductors Masters degree program. There will be a reception following the performance.
