What is ChoralFest?

ChoralFest Manitoba is an annual festival presented by the Manitoba Choral Association. It is non-competitive. ChoralFest provides choirs and conductors an opportunity to work with well-known adjudicators and expert clinicians in a workshop setting to improve their choral skills.

Who can sing at ChoralFest?

ChoralFest is open to ALL choirs. Whether small or large, novice or accomplished; no matter what a choir’s level of expertise, our adjudicators and clinicians work with each group at its own level. A choir that is just starting has as much to gain as does a well-established choir.

Format

Warm Up

MCA will provide a host who will guide each choir to the warm-up room 30 minutes prior to the performance time. 

Performance

Choirs have 30 minutes on stage (including set-up, introduction, performance, adjudication, stage re-set and exit). An emcee will introduce the choir by reading the bio and selections as provided by the choir. After the performance, the adjudicator will work with the choir on stage.

Clinic (except for Early Years Choirs)

Following the performance, the host will lead the choir to a different location where they will have a 25 minute clinic with a second adjudicator.

Early Years Choirs

Please note that Early Years Choirs will not take part in a Clinic Session.
