Manitoba Choral Association (MCA) celebrates its
30th Anniversary of
Provincial Honour Choirs
February 3 - 5, 2012

Winnipeg MB, January 26, 2012 — It is simply magical when over 270 singers from all parts of Manitoba and Northern Ontario arrive in Winnipeg to participate in a fun filled weekend of choral singing known as PHC. Provincial Honour Choirs will be happening from Friday, February 3 to Sunday, February 5, 2012 when the Manitoba Choral Association presents its special 30th Anniversary of this special weekend. Singers begin rehearsing at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and continue all day Saturday at Gordon Bell High School. The weekend culminates with a spectacular concert hosted by PHC alumna and world renowned soprano, Tracy Dahl. It takes place at the historic Knox United Church on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 3:00 p.m.  Tickets are available at the door for only $10 for adults and $5 for students. Everyone is welcome.

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary, MCA has chosen four outstanding conductors from across Canada and the USA:

Junior Choir, directed by Mark Sirett (Cantabile Choirs, Kingston ON)
Women’s Choir directed by Bruce Cable (Choral Clinician, Edmonton AB)
Senior Choir, directed by Scott Leithead (Kokopelli Singers, Edmonton AB)
Adult Choir, directed by Melanie DeMore (Singer-song writer and renowned choral clinician, Oakland, California)
