Podium 2010 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan later in May.

Competition
Sweet
Adelines International Region Six
Sweet
Adelines International Region Six Singing Competition will
be held at the Winnipeg Convention Centre on May 21 and 22. Singers
from North Dakota,South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Iowa, North Western
Ontario and Manitoba will participate in the Competition. The Quartet
Competition begins Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. The Chorus
Competition will be held on Saturday between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. There
will be approximately seven hundred singers in the competition. Come
and
enjoy the vibrant costuming, choreography, and a cappella singing, four
part harmony, Barbershop Style. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.
Adults $16.75; Students & Children $11.25.

A Gala Concert culminating a Symposium of Male Voices. All 6 choirs
will perform individually and then combine to form a mass choir under
the directorship of Brainerd Blyden-Taylor of the Nathaniel Dett
Chorale.

Women
of Note
Women of note presents a very special music of choral music on
Wednesday, May 12 at Westworth United Church beginning at 7:30 PM with
guest conductor, Robert Cooper - Toronto (see bio at the bottom of this
message).
This past winter, members of the choir have had the privilege of
working with Robert, one of Canada’s leading choral
conductors, in two workshops. He returns to Winnipeg to perform with
WoN Massed Choir to showcase the accomplishment from these workshops at
the annual WoN Spring Fling.
I do hope that you will be able to share this exciting evening of
choral music with me and the wonderful women in my choir. Tickets are
available at the door.
