Neil Weisensel & Rachel Landrecht, Directors
AN UPLIFTING CONCERT OF GOSPEL AND WORLD MUSIC.
This concert is heavy on the Gospel Music side and features two songs from the Chicago area: The Lord is my Light from the renowned Chicago Mass Choir and O Lord Raise Me Up, from the Baha’i Devotional Choral Concert series in that same great city. Two African songs, the celebrated Siyahamba and Kwangena Thina Bo (”we come in, the Spirit is moved) bookend an ancient Icelandic hymn, Heyr Himna Smiour (“hear, smith of heavens”). This will be a concert with some rocking gospel tunes, some introspective devotional music, and some vibrant African songs.
We are fortunate to be backed up by an outstanding band featuring Ron Paley on piano, Daniel Koulack on bass, Anthony Giancola on drums, and Henry Zacharias on percussion.
