Join us on Saturday, October 26, 2019 for an exciting new fundraising event designed to give singers an invigorating experience learning and singing a short choral masterwork in a fun, friendly, educational, and supportive environment.
Whether you are a beginner singer or an advanced one, you are welcome to participate in this event! Singers of all levels will come together to learn the piece and then present the full work that very evening to friends, family and community members.
About Fauré’s Requiem
Requiem, Op. 48
Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924)
Of all the Requiems that have been composed for choir and orchestra, Fauré’s stands out as different because of the intimate scale of the writing, the subtlety of the orchestration, and for the sense of peace and serenity it contains. These elements unite to make Fauré’s “little Requiem” one of the most beloved and often performed large works for choir.
