Job Search: Section Leads (paid positions)

St. Michael and All Angels Church, an Anglican parish in the Anglo-Catholic tradition, is presently seeking four singers (one each of soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) to offer choral music during the weekly Sunday and occasional weekday services (i.e. Christmas and Holy Week).

The parish's regular form of worship is the traditional mass, during which the majority of the liturgy is either sung or chanted. The successful applicants will form the core of an ensemble whose role will be that of performing chant and choral music (anthems and motets, as well as a variety of mass settings, including Gregorian, Renaissance, Classical, and modern choral compositions) in keeping with the Anglo-Catholic liturgical and musical tradition, as well as providing musical leadership for the congregational music (hymns, chants, and responses) during these services.

A background in, and appreciation of, sacred choral music is desirable. Familiarity with the Anglican tradition and liturgical calendar is not required, but respect for them and the willingness to work within them is assumed. Preference will be given to singers with formal musical training and/or choral singing experience. An honorarium will be provided.
