Impressive new facilities in a beautifully restored Taché Hall

Dear Music Educators,

This is an exciting time at the Desautels Faculty of Music! Recent years have witnessed considerable growth in our programs, and there are many faculty, student and alumni achievements to celebrate. My colleagues and I are inspired by our talented students, many of whom have come to the University of Manitoba from your school music programs and private studios.

In August, we moved into Phase One of impressive new facilities in a beautifully restored Taché Hall, one of the University’s most historic buildings. Formerly a student residence, Taché has been transformed into 40 practice rooms, classrooms, a stunning new Music Library, keyboard lab, o ces for faculty, support sta , sessional instructors, and graduate students, and storage lockers for our students’ instruments. Meanwhile, construction of large teaching and rehearsal spaces is ongoing behind Taché.

I am writing to invite you to an Open House. Join me for a tour of Taché, and see how it will link to new construction that will provide the Desautels Faculty of Music with the most modern post-secondary music facilities in Canada.
